It seems to be a slow news day in Slovakia and in Scotland, so here's some tourist information instead. In spring and summer, Košice's musical fountain is a magnet for citizens and tourists alike. It's relaxing to come and sit and be lulled both by the music - usually it's lulling - and the sound of the fountains rising and falling. The fountain is in the middle of Hlavná, in other words in the middle of Košice. The fountain was built in 1985 and enlarged in 1997. It might be surprising that Košice has one of the more advanced musical fountains in the world but this is the case. The fountain accompanies CDs, adds coloured lighting, plays the radio - though the news reports to the accompaniment of fountains would seem a little unusual. The piece de resistance, surely, is that orchestras in the nearby state theatre can be linked into the system; that really is worth seeing.Home / Business // Search // Submissions
